Arguably the most well recognized sports car of the 20th century, the Jaguar E-type offers a perfect combination of sleek lines and high-performance. Just as it did when first revealed to the public in 1961, it is still igniting passions today.
The iconic Jaguar E-Type has evolved over the years. The initial 3.8-liter model had a lack of footwell space, uncomfortable seats, massive brake fade and an engine prone to overheating – yet it was loved. Ten years and numerous improvements later, Jaguar launched a V12 engine in its E-Type, transforming it with an infusion of torque and horsepower. Along with the engine, other significant modifications were made, including power steering and power brakes. The result was a very fine and quite sophisticated, grand touring car ready to conquer the winding roads with grace.
This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 is dressed in a striking shade of red with a well-preserved black leather interior and a black soft top. It was delivered new Left-Hand-Drive to the United States, NY in 1973. At that time, the car was painted in Turquoise with a dark blue interior.
Here is the list of its options and equipment: leather steering wheel / Becker Mexico radio / black leather seats / black floor mats / air conditioning / black fabric soft top / 15″ spoke wheels / two windshield wipers / Stromberg carburetor / four exhaust outlets / radio antenna / burgundy belts / headrests
The chassis no. UE1S23595BW still has its number matching V12 engine as shown on its Jaguar Heritage Certificate. The Jaguar E-Type Series 3 holds a Belgian road registration as oldtimer. It is in good condition and drives well. After being imported in Europe via Italy, it was bought in April 2015 by a Belgian passionate who cherished the car for 8 years and drove it regularly to take part in historical rallyes, including two in South Africa. The current owner used it only on special occasions. Today, the odometer shows a mileage of 25.750 miles.
For the last ten years, the E-Type has been regularly maintained by a Belgian specialist who did the following works in April 23 : complete maintenance and lubrication / oil filter change / expansion vessel replacement / 2 new rear shock absorbers / carburetor overhaul / headlight adjustment / front winch geometry and steering wheel centering / starter fastening / 12 spark plugs.
