The 968 is the last model of the “front-engined Porsches”, it replaces the 944 in 1992. Without really contrasting with the past, it has more smooth curves. Round front lights appear and come out of the body to illuminate the road as well as possible.
The 968 is powered by an updated version of the 4-cylinder engine of the 944. Coupled with a variable valve timing system, called Variocam, the engine becomes extremely modern and pleasant. The 3.0-liter so equipped develops 240 horsepower at 6,200 rpm, which makes it the most powerful 4-cylinder engine in the world at that time.
The cabriolet version presented here is equipped with a 4-speed Tiptronic transmission. This new kind of automatic transmission offers two modes of use: an all-automatic mode and a semi-automatic mode.
The vehicle was delivered by Porsche Stuttgart on 06/07/1992 in the very original color “Sternrubin” (color code 82N), typical of the 90s. It has a black leather interior. It has only driven 122,000 km and is in very good aesthetic and technical condition.
