Description

The Ferrari 512 BBi was unveiled in 1981 to serve as a quicker and more efficient sibling to the 512 BB. The fuel injected engine produced 340hp and a top speed of 280km per hour for all-day driving on the autostradas of Europe. It was a more civilized car than its predecessors but maintained the raw speed of the Ferrari 12-cylinder engine of the 70s and 80s. Plus, the engine was now mid-mounted, adding to the balance and overall performance of the car.
Just 1,007 examples of the 512 BBi were produced from 1981 through 1984. The advent of the Testarossa marked the end of an era for the manufacturer since the 512 BBi were the last models built entirely in the classic old-Italian fashion, completely by hand.

The 512 BBi offered here is finished in the very rare and elegant color combination Grigio Scuro (Gun metal Grey) over Tan leather seats, in our eyes much more valuable than the commonly available red examples. Built with left-hand drive and to European specification, it was delivered in May 1984 by the French Ferrari importer, Pozzi Paris. It remained in France until 1991. The car had driven 17.700 km when it was imported to Germany.

The third and current owner purchased the car in 2013 from Modena Motorsport in Langenfeld with 28.600 km on the counter. He kept it in his possession until now.
The car is accident-free and has been well maintained, it comes with complete service records.
The last timing belt service was performed at L’Officina, Belgian Ferrari specialist in April 2019.
