This beautiful Bentley T1 Saloon was produced by Bentley H.R. Owen in London in a classy Oyster Grey color that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also represents the era in which the car was built.
The T series was the first unibodied Bentley. It was available as a four-door saloon and as a long wheelbase four-door saloon. But only a small number (no more than 100 units) of two-door saloons were built with coachwork by James Young and Mulliner Park Ward like the one we have here for sale. In terms of design, the Bentley T has a slightly more assertive look than the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow from which it differs with the traditional round-shouldered Bentley style front grille.
In 1992, the chassis number CBH1866 was completed restored (body and mechanics) by Ets Sao Reymond in Neuilly sur Seine (France).
The current owner is a French car collector. He bought the Bentley in 2007 and maintained it very regularly during his 16 years of ownership. The car offers refinement and comfort with its leather seats, wood veneer accents and spacious interior. In 2013, the upholstery was completely restored in the original dark green color. (new leather seats, new carpets, new door trim). The woodwork also was partially restored. New belts with chrome buckles were installed. More than 24.000 EUR were spent in total.
In 2016, the vehicle was featured with a tailor-made air conditioning offering additional comfort during the summer. The top engine was reconditioned, all seals were replaced, and the carburetors adjusted in January 2022 for a total amount of 17.000 EUR.
Very lately (April 2023), the following works were done: reconditioning of the gearbox, replacement of the igniter and the starter timer for another 18.000 EUR.
Today, the odometer shows 93.500 miles and the car is in very good aesthetic and mechanical condition. The paint looks beautiful, there are no traces of rust. The chromes are in very good state. The engine runs perfectly with the last technical control done at 93.074 kms. This Bentley is ideal for long drives and special occasions.
In addition to the standard equipment, this Bentley has the optional electrically adjustable front seats, a walnut ronse picnic table, a Becker auto radio and a stainless steel exhaust.
