This Disco Volante Spyder is a piece of art on wheels, one of the most beautiful cars ever built.
Based on the Alfa Romeo 8C, the Disco Volante was imagined by the coach-builder Touring Superleggera as the modern vision of the Disco Volante of the 50s. It exists in 2 versions : the Coupé and the Spyder. Each exemplar has been made entirely by hand in aluminium and carbon elements, to the taste of its lucky owner. While the coupe uses only 35% carbon, the Spyder increases this proportion to 50%.
The Disco Volante is very rare to find on the market. The Spyder version was produced in a very limited run of 7 exemplars and this one is the last one produced, number 7 out of 7.
It took 4,000-man-hours and 6 months to build this pristine Italian masterpiece. Every detail is sublime. This work was crowned by one of the most prestigious prizes. The Disco Volante Spyder was the Design Award Winner of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2016.
Powered by a Ferrari derived 4.7-liter V8 engine, the Disco Volante produces a very pleasing sound that will take your breath away. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an automated manual gearbox, which is controlled by paddles on the steering wheel and provides an exciting driving experience.
This stunning exemplar was ordered in 2010 in Rosso Seducente by its one-and-only owner, a passionate gentleman who registered it in Germany and drove only 6.350 Km. The Spyder has been maintained regularly by Maserati. It comes with a book showing pictures of the various stages of its production, its car cover as well as a set of luggage matching with the upholstery.
In terms of design, there is simply no competition for the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante Spyder. It is a dream car for fine collectors.
